Children's Dentistry

Life long attitudes are shaped by our early experience as children. Dr. Weiss and his staff are dedicated to developing bright, healthy smiles from the very beginning. We work with parents in helping them to teach their children how to care for their teeth. Good dental hygiene is a team effort, involving both our patients and their parents.

Sealants are used to protect the chewing surfaces of young back teeth or teeth with deep grooves. Molar teeth may have deep grooves on the biting surfaces and it is easy for bacteria to get trapped there and start to develop cavities. Sealants are clear or shaded plastic materials that can be painted onto the decay prone surfaces of the teeth and therefore reduce and prevent the risk of decay. This is done without anesthetic or drilling.
