Dentures / Full or Partial

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth. It is made of acrylic resin, sometimes in combination with
various metals. Complete dentures replace all of the teeth, while a
partial denture fills in the spaces created by missing teeth. Partial dentures support the remaining teeth.
Candidates for complete dentures have lost most or all of their
teeth. A partial denture is suitable for those who have some natural
teeth remaining. A denture improves chewing ability and speech,
and provides support for facial muscles. It will greatly enhance
the facial appearance and smile.
There are alternatives to removable dentures and partial dentures. Strategically placed dental implants, can now be used to support a full or partial denture. This allows a full or partial denture to be either removable or permanent. An implant supported upper denture eliminates the need for acrylic in the palate of the mouth and therefore allows for improved heat and cold sensations as well as better taste and stability. On the lower the implant supported full denture or partial denture improve the forces of mastication (chewing) as well as preserving the valuable jawbone from atrophy. Implant supported dentures and partials never click or come loose when eating and have numerous advantages over standard full dentures and partial dentures.
